AutoReproduce: Automatic AI Experiment Reproduction with Paper Lineage (2026.acl-long)

Copied to clipboard

Challenge: Efficient reproduction of research papers requires deep domain expertise.
Approach: They propose a framework that systematically mines implicit knowledge from the cited literature to reproduce experimental code in a complete, end-to-end manner.
Outcome: The proposed framework surpasses baselines across all metrics and reproduces experimental code in a complete, end-to-end manner.
Spider: A Large-Scale Human-Labeled Dataset for Complex and Cross-Domain Semantic Parsing and Text-to-SQL Task (D18-1)

Copied to clipboard

Challenge: Existing datasets for semantic parsing are too small in terms of number of programs for training modern data-intensive models.
Approach: They propose a large-scale complex and cross-domain semantic parsing task for a database . they use a dataset with 10,181 questions and 5,693 unique complex SQL queries .
Outcome: The proposed task is different from previous tasks because it uses the same database and program . the best model achieves only 9.7% exact matching accuracy on a database split setting.
Coherent Entity Disambiguation via Modeling Topic and Categorical Dependency (2023.findings-emnlp)

Copied to clipboard

Challenge: Existing entity disambiguation methods struggle to capture explicit discourse-level dependencies, resulting in incoherent predictions at the abstract level.
Approach: They propose an unsupervised variational autoencoder to extract latent topic vectors of context sentences to enhance coherence of entity predictions.
Outcome: The proposed system achieves state-of-the-art on popular ED benchmarks with an average improvement of 1.3 F1 points.
TypeSQL: Knowledge-Based Type-Aware Neural Text-to-SQL Generation (N18-2)

Copied to clipboard

Challenge: Existing systems that can understand natural language questions and generate corresponding SQL queries are not able to do this.
Approach: They propose a novel approach which formats the problem as a slot filling task in a more reasonable way and utilizes type information to better understand rare entities and numbers in the questions.
Outcome: The proposed approach outperforms the prior art on the WikiSQL dataset and can reach 82.6% accuracy, a 17.5% improvement compared to the previous content-sensitive model.
Instructed Language Models with Retrievers Are Powerful Entity Linkers (2023.emnlp-main)

Copied to clipboard

Challenge: Generative approaches powered by large language models have demonstrated emergent abilities in tasks that require complex reasoning abilities.
Approach: They propose a sequence-to-sequence training objective with instruction-tuning that enables casual language models to perform entity linking over knowledge bases.
Outcome: The proposed framework outperforms existing approaches with +6.8 F1 points gain on average and huge advantage in training data efficiency and compute consumption.
