Synthesizing Conversations from Unlabeled Documents using Automatic Response Segmentation (2024.findings-acl)

Copied to clipboard

Challenge: Several datasets have been developed for building conversational question answering systems.
Approach: They propose a robust dialog synthesising method that learns segmentation instead of using sentence boundaries.
Outcome: The proposed method achieves superior quality when compared to WikiDialog . it also improves performance across OR-QuAC benchmarks .
Transformer-based Models for Long-Form Document Matching: Challenges and Empirical Analysis (2023.findings-eacl)

Copied to clipboard

Challenge: Recent advances in the area of long document matching have primarily focused on using transformer-based models for long document encoding and matching.
Approach: They propose to use simple neural models and simple embeddings to improve document matching by taking significantly less training time, energy, and memory.
Outcome: The proposed models outperform the more complex BERT-based models while taking significantly less training time, energy, and memory.
ViSAGe: A Global-Scale Analysis of Visual Stereotypes in Text-to-Image Generation (2024.acl-long)

Copied to clipboard

Challenge: Existing approaches for evaluating stereotypes have a noticeable lack of coverage of global identity groups and their associated stereotypes.
Approach: They propose to use a dataset to evaluate nationality-based stereotypes in T2I models across 135 nationalities to assess offensive stereotypes.
Outcome: The proposed dataset enables evaluation of known nationality-based stereotypes across 135 nationalities.
